Press Release June 14, 2011

Glacier’s Community and Military Outreach Program

Glacier had the honor and privilege of attending the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division’s Dining Out 2011.  This event stems from a long history steeped in tradition, ceremony and fellowship that can be traced back to the oldest recorded American dining-in/out in September of 1716.  Held at the Camino Real Hotel, the formal banquet consisted of battalion toasts, a wonderful dinner, an amusing and entertaining Grog ceremony and dance.

The U.S. Army celebrated its 236th birthday June 14, 2011.  Glacier was present to enjoy the festivities at Memorial Circle located on Ft. Bliss, TX.  Recipients of the prestigious Purple Heart award presented the army’s campaign streamers as the histories of America’s battles were relayed.  Attendees were treated to a musical tribute and birthday cake.
