Assault Zone Range Support
Back to Special Operations and Ranges
capability to simulate real world scenarios in order to train personnel to
execute assault zone operations is an uncompromising need within the special
operations community. The execution of assault zone operations requires
considerable skill and coordination. This mission involves the release of
heavy equipment, ruggedized vehicles, and thousands of paratroopers from
dozens of airplanes regardless of weather conditions with the objective of
landing them all within the same ground target area. Glacier Technologies
understands the criticality and complexity of this mission; therefore it
employs only the most highly trained and experienced personnel to support
the conduct of Assault Zone Operations.
Glacier Technologies personnel assist in exercise planning, training,
execution and post-event activities. Prior to the exercise, they assist
each element of the division and task force to conduct individual unit-level
training as well as collective training involving all units of the
division task force simultaneously. During the exercise,
Glacier personnel coordinate the execution of mission-related events with air traffic controllers, pilots (including fixed-wing and rotary aircraft),
equipment managers, ground crews and paratroopers. Following the execution
of the air drop, they manage and coordinate ground activities on the drop zone
to include reconstitution and the onward movement of units.
Glacier ground personnel then evaluate the effectiveness of each exercise
and provide documented reports to the customer.
