SBA Success Story: Glacier Tech Hailed for Creating Local Jobs

On 12 August, Ms Yolanda Olivares (Regional Administrator for the Small Business Administration) met with Mr. Bobby Trumbla (President and CEO of Glacier Technologies) at the company’s headquarters located at 1200 Golden Key Circle in El Paso, Texas.

The purpose of this meeting was to recognize Glacier Technologies for its success as a member of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Program. Glacier is only one of 100 small businesses nationwide that have been so recognized by the SBA for this achievement. Since its inception in 2005, Glacier has grown remarkably in both size and composition.

Today, the company employees over 400 personnel and offers services in several functional areas to include Information Technologies, Communications and Electronics, Test and Evaluation, Range Operations, and Call Center/Support Desk Services.

Following her tour of Glacier’s facilities, Ms Olivares remarked that Glacier Technologies was a real success story for both the SBA and the City of El Paso for providing over 100 jobs to the local community.

The SBA 100 Companies include businesses in a variety of industries, from manufacturing, to food and beverage, to shipping. Each business received SBA support in the form of capital, contracting, counseling or investment before going on to create at least 100 jobs.
