On 1 December of 2011 the commander of
the 4/1 AD Spe-cial Troops Battalion (STB)
visited our corporate offic-es. Glacier
has been sponsoring the 4/1 STB for over
three years as part of the AUSA Guardian
Program. The STB deployed earlier this
year to Iraq for a twelve month tour.
However, due to the drawdown, many of
its soldiers were able to come home
early. The remainder of the battalion is
slated to return before the year‟s end.
Some of the missions the STB per-formed
while in Iraq included sweeping roads
for IEDs and establishing the
infrastructure required for the state
department to take over the duties of
the mili-tary. During the meeting, Bobby
Trumbla reaffirmed Glacier‟s commitment
to supporting the battalion and its
soldiers. Glacier will assist in hosting
a formal dining out for the unit in the
near future. |
